A hydrocele is a condition where fluid collects around the testicle, causing swelling in the scrotum. It is usually painless but may cause heaviness or discomfort. When the swelling becomes large or persistent, surgery (hydrocelectomy) is recommended to remove the fluid and prevent recurrence. The procedure is performed under anesthesia and usually requires a short hospital stay. Mild swelling or discomfort may occur after surgery but improves with medicines and proper care. Most patients recover within a few days and return to normal activities within a week.
