A hysterectomy is treated as a major surgical procedure in which the surgeon removes the uterus to manage conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, chronic bleeding, or certain cancers. The procedure is done under anesthesia and may be performed through an abdominal incision, through the vagina, or with minimally invasive laparoscopic or robotic techniques.
