About Kidney stone surgery (PCNL)

PCNL is done to remove large kidney stones that cannot pass on their own. Through a tiny incision in the back, a small tube and camera are used to reach and break the stones using a laser or other device. It is highly effective for big or multiple stones. The benefits are complete stone clearance in most of the cases and quick improvement in symptoms. However, there may be mild back pain, a little bleeding, or temporary urine leak after surgery, which settles in a few days. The procedure is done under anesthesia and the hospital stay is around 2–3 days. Pain is well-controlled with medicines, and most patients recover in about a week. With regular follow-up, kidney function and healing remain excellent.

Features:

  • Advanced Equipment – Performed using high-precision C-arm fluoroscopy, ultrasound guidance, mini/micro-PCNL systems, high-power Holmium/Thulium laser lithotripsy, and specialized nephroscopes with digital imaging for accuracy and safety.
  • Minimally Invasive Procedure – Only a 5–10 mm skin puncture is needed, avoiding large cuts and reducing tissue trauma, suitable for large or complex kidney stones.
  • Quick Recovery – Minimal bleeding and pain with faster healing
  • patients typically walk within hours and resume daily activities in 7–10 days.
  • Short Hospital Stay (3 Days) – Most cases require just 3 days of observation, with discharge once the tube or stent is stable and the patient is comfortable.
