About Prostate surgery (TURP SIMPLE)
TURP is a common operation for men with enlarged prostate causing frequent urination or weak flow. The surgery is done without any cut by inserting a camera and instrument through the urine passage to remove the extra prostate tissue. It is safe and provides permanent relief from urinary
problems. Whether the prostate is small or large, the method is similar, though larger glands take a bit more time. Patients usually stay in the hospital for 3–4 days, and a catheter is kept for 2–3 days. Mild burning or a little bleeding in urine may occur but improves quickly. The biggest benefit is
improved flow, restful sleep, and a better quality of life. Most men feel completely comfortable within a week.
