About Ureteric Stone Surgery (URS)
URS is a minor keyhole surgery done to remove stones from the urine tube (ureter) without any cut on the body. A thin telescope is passed through the urinary passage, and the stone is broken using a
laser and removed. The biggest advantage is that there are no external stitches, recovery is very quick, and the patient usually goes home the next day. Sometimes a small plastic tube called a DJ
stent is kept for a short time to ensure smooth urine flow. Mild burning or a little blood in urine may occur for a few days but settles quickly. The surgery is done under anesthesia and pain is minimal.
Drinking plenty of water helps in faster recovery. With proper follow-up, patients remain stone-free and return to work in just a few days.
Features:
Advanced Equipment - Uses modern endoscopic and laser technology such as URS (Ureteroscopy) and Holmium:YAG or Thulium Fiber Laser for precise stone fragmentation.
Minimally Invasive - No large cuts
the procedure is performed through the natural urinary passage, reducing bleeding and trauma.
Quick Recovery - Patients typically resume normal activities within 24–48 hours due to minimal tissue disturbance.
Day-Care Procedure - Most cases are done on a same-day discharge basis, avoiding long hospital stay.
High Success Rate - Laser lithotripsy ensures effective fragmentation and removal of stones.
Less Pain & Faster Healing - Reduced postoperative pain, limited analgesic use, and better patient comfort.
